And ticks! Not nervous ones, just the ones that burrow under your skin and suck yer blood. I found one on May’s face yesterday….so what with prehistoric carnivorous bugs and oversized bees, it gives a whole new meaning to the term ‘Jurassic Coast’……
P.S. We googled hornets. They do sting. Like a wasp, only bigger. I’m off to ring Rentokil.

Hornets home in for the kill ….. they often fly in pairs like well armed Harrier Jets and almost as fast …. ooohhh and I’m visiting shortly.
So tell the kids to leave them alone! Though I expect you have already done so.
I used to watch them fly past working in a garden location similar to yours near Branscombe. I always stood very still! But it was kind of awe inspiring.
